Tonya Poindexter is a seasoned communications strategist and business leader, serving as the CEO and President of The Write Touch LLC, a certified SWaM business specializing in Strategic Corporate Communications, grant writing, and stakeholder engagement. With an unparalleled ability to craft compelling narratives and deliver strategic messaging, Tonya empowers businesses and organizations to connect authentically with their audiences and achieve measurable success.

Tonya’s career in communications began during her tenure at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), where she broke new ground as the agency’s first-ever Counterintelligence Communications Program Manager. In this role, she established the FBI’s Counterintelligence Communications Program, providing strategic direction for internal and external communications at the highest levels. Her work ensured alignment across the agency’s messaging while addressing critical national security priorities. She later led the Training/Communications, Assessments, and Behavioral Research teams for the FBI’s Insider Threat Program, where she developed innovative communication strategies to drive engagement and mitigate organizational risks.

In addition to leading The Write Touch LLC, Tonya leverages her communications expertise to serve as Chief Communications & Marketing Officer for Student Housing of America, where she advances the mission of providing safe, affordable housing for HBCU students. As Chief Operating Officer of Virginia Minority Chambers, Inc., she oversees statewide initiatives that foster economic growth and support underserved communities, applying her strategic vision to amplify the organization’s impact.

Tonya’s dedication to empowering minority businesses extends to her role as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Northern Virginia Black Chamber of Commerce (NVBCC). A proven leader, she has developed innovative communication strategies that strengthen partnerships, expand outreach, and position businesses for success in competitive markets.

With a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, a Bachelor of Science in Management, and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communications, Tonya combines academic rigor with practical experience. She is currently pursuing a Master of Public Administration, further enhancing her capacity to serve as a transformative leader at the intersection of business and communications.
